About David Godot
As a second-year Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) student at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, I have received education and training in psychological assessment and diagnosis, individual and family psychotherapy, and group therapy. My areas of interest include:
- mind-body techniques like clinical hypnosis, mindfulness meditation, and relaxation training
- nutritional aspects of mental health and well-being
- projective assessment techniques like the Rorschach inkblot method, lifestyle assessment, and dream interpretation
- the psychology of motivation, creativity, and personal strengths
- existential, transpersonal, and psychoanalytic issues and interventions
I’m currently completing a one-year clinical externship in psychological assessment and diagnosis at the Diamond Headache Clinic Inpatient Unit, where I perform comprehensive psychological assessments, provide brief psychotherapy services, and offer weekly group therapy and psychoeducation sessions for sufferers of chronic headache pain.
In addition to classes and externship, I spend a few days each week doing public relations and blogging for an excellent web-based software company, which I have been doing for several years.
I have started this blog in order to provide interesting and useful explanations of psychological techniques and phenomena. I hope that my articles here will help people to increase the level of motivation, creativity, and happiness in their lives.
It is definitely worth saying more than once that I am not able to provide any type of psychotherapy or psychological assessment service here on this website. If you have concerns about your mental or physical well-being, please seek a personal consultation with a qualified health professional.
However, I will be very happy to answer your questions about self-improvement, self-help, understanding people, or any other general topics from a psychological viewpoint.
